Thursday

My internship has been different than my expectations because at first I thought things were going to be really difficult but by learning how to do them and following instructions, they became easy. Compared to IHS, ST Vincent’s Hospital provides health care so more than 100 people enter the emergency room everyday and IHS provides education. There’s a similarity between these two workplaces which is Diversity. I’ve met patients and workers from different countries.
At my internship, I learned how to make an inventory which could maybe help me in the future. I think I have a good relationship with myMentor and co-workers because I feel comfortable to ask them any questions when I don’t understand something. My Mentor is my inspiration, working with her made me feel like I’m prepared for any volunteer work. She gave me good tips about life. I practiced more English at my Internship and I learned new words. At first, I was afraid to ask questions but Sister Pat made me feel comfortable and told me to ask questions anytime I want to.
The schedule affected me because sometimes I don’t get my homework done. When I get home I’m so tired that I go straight to bed. During the remaining weeks, my goal is to complete the hours due and to learn more about the hospital. I’ve learn that the area of St Vincent Hospital is the most expensive neighborhood in New York.
